NFL Draft

I'm not really the type to follow the NFL draft - except of course, when there are Huskers. And last year it was fun to watch the pretty-boy quarterback from Notre Dame sit and squirm for a long time. Brody something? Can't even remember his name. I just remember that Notre Dame was so in love with him, and I'm so NOT in love with Notre Dame. Sidenote - remember the record THEY had in 2007? That's one thing that can give me solace anytime.

Anyway, I was a little surprised that Zac Bowman got drafted so highly. We hardly got to see him do anything here. He must have impressed the combine people. Usually when I think of "combine people" I think of John Deere, but that's another topic. Anyway, good for him.

Poor Sam Keller. I really liked him, and even though I prefer a QB that moves out of the pocket and can deliver some pain (See Eric Crouch video on sidebar), I thought he was talented and had a good attitude. Hopefully he'll find an opportunity somewhere.

Best wishes to the other Huskers who were drafted, signed on in free agency, or invited to work out with any team. Hope to see you guys on Sunday, and Monday, and sometimes Thursday.

Congrats to Mike Rucker on his retirement. I really love Mike Minter, and he retired a year or two ago also. Both Carolina Panthers, and for their whole career. That's rare, I think. So cool to see Husker greats make good on their talents for a few more years.

And I heard that the Huskers winning ANYTHING in baseball in Waco was no small feat. Way to go to the baseball team!

Yea - Husker love everywhere!
